EcoWorld London to open new family council homes at Herings Hall Close
The official completion of Herings Hall Close, a new development of council homes in Brentford was marked this week with Hounslow Council’s Leader Cllr Steve Curran meeting one of the families at their brand-new home.
This development is one of the latest schemes to be delivered under the joint venture between the Council’s Housing Development Team, Lampton Property360 and EcoWorld London. The event also attended by Syon ward councillor and cabinet member for Communities and Climate Emergency Cllr Katherine Dunne, and Cllr Guy Lambert cabinet member for Highways, Recycling and Companies as well as representatives of EcoWorld London and Lampton Property360.
The nineteen new homes in Herings Hall Close have been delivered through the partnership between the Council’s Housing Development Team, Lampton Property360 and EcoWorld London. Providing a range of two-, three- and four-bedroom council homes at council rent for local people, contributing to Hounslow’s commitment to build 1,000 new Council homes by April 2022 which has been reached months ahead of schedule.
Herings Hall Close includes cycle parking spaces, a play area, landscaped gardens as well as a private open space for residents. The new homes also feature electric vehicle chargers and solar panels, with some houses also including a nesting box for birds and bats. These measures will support the Council’s commitment to deliver its Climate Emergency Action Plan including cutting carbon emissions across the borough.
Councillor Steve Curran said: “I’m really pleased we are able to celebrate the completion of these new council homes, providing families with a better quality of life and a place they are proud to call home. The Herings Hall Close development has contributed to us exceeding our target to build council housing across the Borough this year and our pledge to tackle the impact of the housing crisis on our residents and communities. I’m particularly proud of the delivery of these homes, despite the challenges, we have successfully built 19 new council homes including three- and four-bedrooms properties for larger families. We recognise the demand for similar developments, and we will continue to work hard to deliver more homes of this calibre across Hounslow.”
Heng Leong Cheong, CEO of EcoWorld London said: “I am delighted to see these new social rented family homes delivered by our joint venture with Lampton Development 360 and, more importantly, the families enjoying their new homes and looking forward to their first Christmas here. In the new year a further 30 affordable homes will be completed at Two Bridges and construction will start on 176 new homes at New Road Triangle – half of which will be affordable. We’re pleased to see the hard work of the partnership bearing fruit and changing lives for the better. We remain committed to playing our role in helping Hounslow deliver its housing priorities across the borough.”
Jeremy Stibbe, Managing Director, Development and Investment, Lampton 360 said: “This is a great example of what can be achieved by Lampton360 for Hounslow. Nineteen social rent family houses in a wonderful mews planned as a community home zone. Herings Hall Close is also homes to birds, bats, bugs and bats, we have provided electric car charging, photovoltaics and homes have secure cycle storage. We look forward to delivering many more homes in great places in partnership with Hounslow.”
Herings Hall Close is the latest project to be delivered under the joint venture between EcoWorld London and Lampton 360. To date the partnership has completed Eden House in Hounslow Town Centre with 75 affordable homes and circa 4,000sq ft of community space and a third scheme, Two Bridges in Feltham is due to complete in Jan 2022 and will deliver 30 more new homes including purposed-built supported housing.
The joint venture’s latest scheme, New Road Triangle in Feltham recently received planning permission and over half the 176 new homes will be for social rent by habitable space. The highly sustainable project will also yield a 50% biodiversity gain and enhanced pedestrian routes to connect the site with nearby green areas, and significantly exceed standard sustainability requirements for the borough.
