The Open Kitchen initiative is run by Muslim Hands, and since its inception has distributed 100,000 nutritious meals, including the introduction of home deliveries this year, to the elderly and those in isolation since the pandemic. The Open Kitchen, a friendly and warm space, offers those that enter its doors, the dignity and respect they deserve. This winter, the winter relief packs and hygiene kits will contain warm clothing accessories and a sleeping bag whilst the hygiene kits will include everyday essentials such as hand sanitisers, soap, and masks, to ensure protection against the elements and pandemic.

In addition to the essential items, EcoWorld London and their subcontractors at the Kew Bridge Gate development raised an additional £900+ in funds to support the Open Kitchen.

Nivene Powell, Senior Community Liaison Manager, EcoWorld London:

“Open Hands provides a valuable service to diverse range of people within the Hounslow community. They are an exemplary organisation that supports low income families, combats social isolation, and provides hot food distribution, as well as addressing the specific needs of the Hounslow community. We’re proud to have supported them in 2020 and will do so in coming years, continuing to invest in the communities in which we work.”
